Y'all are awesome!
Although, now I feel bad for not updating my blog more.
And the Kittypage! was kind of a low blow.
I land in almost exactly 24 hours.
See ya then.
PS: Liz is addicted to Lost guides?

Cool little quiz/survey at Mugglenet.
I'm not planning on entering my results, but I'll post 'em here once the survey is done. It seems like a really good opportunity to focus your thoughts, and maybe start some discussion before DH comes out.
EDIT: I've finished my answers, and I'm trying to find the best way to post it. For now, here are my answers in a very difficult to read form:

A Question for Sinclaire
If she's not still reading this, someone please poke her for me.
So, I was cruising around the internet today, and found a really cool linguistic thing, and want to know if it's true.
The example they gave was guardian and warden. Supposedly, they both came from the Germanic word gwarden. Old Engish reduced 'gw' to 'w', and got warden. French reduced 'gw' to 'g', and got guardian. Then guardian joined back up with English after the Norman Conquest.
Have you ever heard of two English words coming from the same source word, but through different paths?

OotP Spoilers!!11!
Here they are.
We can spend hours discussing this in the comments (if you guys haven't done it without me.)
I'll start.
"- No Phineas (though his line is in the Dumbledore escape scene)"
Phineas Nigellus is in! Awesome! He's about my favorite character in the whole book.
Your turn.
EDIT: I read on. "- No Phineas (though his line is in the Dumbledore escape scene)" Dammit! There goes the movie.

Wherein I Urge You All to Watch More TV
I have several comments to make, all of them related to that most wonderful of inventions, the television.
1) I'm about to give up on Veronica Mars. I'll try to stay on through this season, but this last arc was just so boring. The only episode I really liked in the whole arc was "There's Got to Be A Morning After Pill." And the conclusion to the Dean's murder was a huge bowl of meh. It managed to make a bad-mystery hat trick: it was predictable, boring, AND hard to believe.
2) Lost, by contrast, is totally back. Last week's episode was off in just about every way possible, but this week's was awesome. Jin's inability to speak English will never not be funny as long as the Losties continue to try and remedy the situtation by speaking LOUD-ER and SLOW-ER. And Rousseau is back! She always brightens things up.
3) On Monday, NBC News is scheduled to have a story about asbestos. Yawn. But as part of this story, they're going to show a clip from one of Patty's press conferences. Slightly less yawn. A press conference that I helped set up (literally...I helped put the signs on stands, and stuff the press packets.) And after I helped set up, I stood around in the back, watching it. So even though I'm not actually on camera, I was standing about five feet directly behind it. So that's pretty cool.
I think I had another TV related thing to talk about, but I can't remember what it was (that's the trouble with posting at 11:30.) If I remember, I'll edit it in.

It's Only a Matter of Time, Now
This is quite awesome.
Today they're making spears. Tomorrow they'll be discovering agriculture. And after that, who knows.
We've peaked. It's time for a young, hungrier species to take over.
Pe Es: I want to hear all the juicy details about the play.
