Wonders of the World

I don't mean to distract from the cat pictures, or anything, but am I the only one who thinks it's a little ridiculous that the Sydney Opera House is a finalist to become a new "wonder of the world." I mean, it's a building. A somewhat pretty building, but it has no real cultural significance, and as far as I can tell, it doesn't seem to be a particularly great architectural achievement. If that gets in over something like Petra, or the Colosseum, or the Great Wall, I shall be very upset.

And I shall register my disgust by posting on my blog. Now there's a threat!

Think positively. Don't tell us what you are opposed to, but what do you favor... besides Petra, I mean. What are your seven candidates for new wonders of the world.

Also, aren't the pyramids at Giza ancient wonders? Seems they should be ineligible... that would be only fair for our civilizations that are only a few hundred years old.
